چکیده

In this paper we study the HFM BOK (M-ary Hyperbolic Frequency Modulated-Binary Orthogonal Keying) modulation technology which is suitable for underwater acoustic communication. Under the guidance of the theory, we test the practicability of the system through MATLAB simulation. This system uses MFSK-MBOK cascaded technology and decreases the systematic calculated amount largely, in addition, the scheme has characteristic of constant envelope. Finally, an underwater acoustic communication system has been tested by sea experiments. The experimental results show that the system is able to achieve a robust and reliable communication under the conditions of low signal-to-noise ratio and strong multipath using passive time reversal mirror technology. Effect of Underwater Ambient Noise on Quadraphase Phase-shift Keying Acoustic Sensor Network Links in Extremely Low Frequency Band

This study evaluates the impact of underwater ambient noise using seven real noise samples; Dolphin, Rain, Ferry, Sonar, Bubbles, Lightning, and Outboard Motor in three frequency ranges in extremely low frequency (ELF) band. The ELF band is the most significant bandwidth for underwater long-range communication. ELF band which is extended from 3 to 3000 Hz clearly, faces bandwidth limitation. Me...

A Novel Carrier Waveform Inter-Displacement Modulation Method in Underwater Communication Channel

As the main way of underwater wireless communication, underwater acoustic communication is one of the focuses of ocean research. Compared with the free space wireless communication channel, the underwater acoustic channel suffers from more severe multipath effect, the less available bandwidth and the even complex noise. The underwater acoustic channel is one of the most complicated wireless com...

An Initial Demonstration of Underwater Acoustic Communication Using Time Reversal

In July 1999, an at-sea experiment to measure the focus of a 3.5-kHz centered time-reversal mirror (TRM) was conducted in three different environments: an absorptive bottom, a reflective bottom, and a sloping bottom. The experiment included a preliminary exploration of using a TRM to generate binary-phase shift keying communication sequences in each of these environments. Broadside communicatio...

Chaos-Based Underwater Communication With Arbitrary Transducers and Bandwidth

In this work, an enhanced differential chaos shift keying (DCSK), based on a first order hybrid chaotic system, is being proposed for a high reliability underwater acoustic communication system. It can be integrated into systems that use standard existing transducers. We show that a coherent operation between the received signal and the time reversal of the basis function in a first order hybri...

Experimental Demonstration of Long-Range Underwater Acoustic Communication Using a Vertical Sensor Array

This paper proposes a composite channel virtual time reversal mirror (CCVTRM) for vertical sensor array (VSA) processing and applies it to long-range underwater acoustic (UWA) communication in shallow water. Because of weak signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), it is unable to accurately estimate the channel impulse response of each sensor of the VSA, thus the traditional passive time reversal mirror (P...
